AVILA BROTHERS
Bobby Villa is one of the prominent American music producers and musicians. In the '90s, he achieved a few one-hit wonders in Europe and later went on to produce songs for Janet Jackson and many other stars. He frequently performed in Stevie Wonder's band as well. I often accompanied the Avila Brothers on their productions, capturing them through my lens for various CD releases. The brothers hail from a very impoverished and perilous area around LA in San Bernardino. We conducted a truly unique shoot at original locations in one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in America, capturing moments only possible in that setting.
